The award wnning – The poison boy is from one of my favourite publishing houses – The Chicken House. They specialise in texts that are a little unusual in their content. The poison boy certainly fits this description. Set in a somewhat murky medieval past, Dalton Fly is a profession poison taster – spending his time looking after the safety of others. Until one of his fellow poison boys dies a gruesome death. Mystery and intrigue – hidden children – dead Dukes and ancient letters –  all suddenly become very important.

He sets out an adventure that will not only take him through the the houses of the wealthy and powerful  and the underground tunnels of his city, it will also lead him to discover his true identity.professional food taster – spending his time making himself immune to a multitude of poisonous brews. However, when he witnesses the gruesome death of a fellow poison boy, his life changes dramatically.
